🍅 Rotten Tomatoes: N/A (Cult Classic)

🗣️ Critical Consensus: Directed by exploitation cinema legend Russ Meyer during a rare European-funded interlude, Fanny Hill is a delightfully campy, lavishly costumed period romp. While diverging heavily from Meyer's usual signature style, the film features an unforgettable supporting performance by Hollywood legend Miriam Hopkins as the quintessential crafty madam.

💡 Did You Know?

Unusual Collaboration: Known primarily for his gritty, fast-paced American sex comedies and exploitation films (like Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!), director Russ Meyer was hired by German producer Artur Brauner to helm this surprisingly restrained, high-budget international co-production.

Literary History: The original novel is one of the most famous examples of erotic literature in English history, subjected to numerous obscenity trials and censorship bans spanning over two centuries.
