Baby Jane

Fresh out of a small town, young Jonne (Roosa Söderholm)—who renames herself Jane—moves to the bustling city of Helsinki in search of independence, thrill, and self-discovery. Soon after arriving, she is rescued from an uncomfortable harassment incident in a nightclub by Piki (Maria Ylipää), a confident, intensely magnetic butch woman who commands the local queer scene.

An intoxicating, whirlwind romance quickly develops between the two women. However, behind Piki’s powerful public persona lies severe, debilitating panic disorder and agoraphobia that keeps her largely confined to her apartment. As Jane steps up to manage Piki’s life, courier business, and complex financial dependence on her ex-partner Bossa (Nelly Kärkkäinen), their passionate romance slowly devolves into a heavy web of codependency, secrecy, and psychological strain.
