🎬 Hotel Coppelia

Set in the Dominican Republic during the 1965 civil war, Hotel Coppelia takes place inside a seaside brothel where a tight-knit group of sex workers attempts to survive the political chaos reshaping their country. The madam, Judith (Lumy Lizardo), and her top earner, Gloria (Nashla Bogaert), run the establishment as a sanctuary from the violence outside.

When constitutionalist rebels seize the area, the women's initial detachment crumbles, and they begin covertly aiding the freedom fighters. However, their lives are shattered when U.S. Marines invade Santo Domingo and forcibly seize the brothel as a military base. Trapped under foreign occupation, the women are forced to navigate brutal abuse, power dynamics, and betrayal while quietly organizing their own desperate act of resistance.
