Ava's Impossible Things

Ava (Chloe Farnworth) lives with her mother, Faye (Susan Duerden). Both women share a passionate love for art, a belief in magic, and the tragic burden of carrying the same rare, degenerative genetic disease. For three years, Ava has devoted every moment to caring for her declining mother while burying her own anxieties about her future and her suppressed desires.

When Faye makes a heartbreaking announcement about her choice to end her life, Ava experiences an emotional breakdown. Unable to confront the harsh reality, she escapes into a surreal, dreamlike fantasy realm populated by manifestations of her past relationships, personified emotions (such as Acceptance and Bargaining), and forgotten romantic desires—a magical world where she must process grief and learn to reclaim her own life.
