Alice (Scout Taylor-Compton) is a strong-willed medical student who goes on a weekend backpacking trip deep into a remote forest alongside her girlfriend, Jules (Olivia Luccardi), and a small group of their close friends from university. The peaceful getaway is designed as a final celebration before they face the intense pressures of their medical careers.

However, the trip fractures on the very first night when a savage, unidentifiable animal attacks their campsite, leaving one of their friends brutally mauled.

As the group tries to treat the wound using their medical training, they quickly realize they aren't dealing with an ordinary wild animal. A highly contagious, fast-acting virus is being transmitted through bites, rapidly mutating its victims into bloodthirsty, animalistic predators devoid of human consciousness. When their infected friends begin turning on the survivors, Alice and Jules must team up with a mysterious, local woodsman named Talbot (Lew Temple) who harbors his own dark secrets about the outbreak. Trapped in a claustrophobic struggle for survival, Alice is forced to weaponize her medical knowledge and raw survival instincts to protect Jules from the infected and find a way out of the woods alive.
