Ayaneh

Ayaneh (Afsaneh Dehrouyeh) is a young Afghan woman who has recently resettled in Switzerland with her conservative Muslim family as a refugee. While attempting to navigate her new life and adapt to Western society, she visits a local public swimming pool, where she unexpectedly meets a vibrant Swiss girl named Anna (Ladina von Frisching).

An instant, unspoken connection blossoms between the two young women, leading to a romantic relationship that offers Ayaneh a newfound sense of personal freedom and bodily autonomy. However, as her bond with Anna deepens, Ayaneh faces rising suspicion and hostility from her religious family, forcing her to choose between honor, familial duty, and her own identity.
